Treat pigmentation while combating and preventing aging! Our advanced formula Skin Lightening Gel uses the perfect blend of ingredients to combat many conditions of the skin. The combination of glycolic acid, hydroquinone and ascorbic acid, will rejuvenate your skin, giving you a more youthful, brighter complexion.
Suffering from discoloration and uneven skin tone from acne scarring or sun damage is a common issue. Our Skin Lightening Gel uses 2% hydroquinone which causes the skin to inhibit the melanin production that leads to pigmentation. Further, our formula includes glycolic exfoliating agents, which dissolve and slough off dead skin cells, encouraging the generation of new, healthy skin. Additionally, ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) is included in the formula to counteract any skin irritation and provides antioxidants to reduce damaging free radicals, that are responsible for the start of the chain of events that damage skin.
This wonderful cocktail of ingredients is essential for everyone’s daily skin care regimen. It is great for all skin types and ages, for skin repair, maintenance and damage prevention.
TIP: Because some skin types are more sensitive to the sun with hydroquinone, it is recommended to use this product at bedtime before application of your night moisturizer. Also, don’t forget to use your sunscreen daily to maximize your results!

Bella Fontana Spa provides many maintenance and advanced skin care options through our estheticians and product lines in the spa and at home. When your skin improves, you begin thinking about teaching your daughter and grand-daughter about taking care of their skin from the start to avoid the problems we have encountered, particularly sun damage and maintaining a youthful texture. We are serious about skin care at Bella Fontana Spa and offer young through mature women solutions to maintain beautiful skin and corrective skin care.
Facials for youth ages 11-14 are more focused on cleansing, hydrating and educating teens about their skin. At 15 – 17 the facial is more like the monthly maintenance facial and there is an additional option if extractions are required. If the young woman requires a full facial, it is the same price as our maintenance or advanced facials that begin at $65 and $80. Good maintenance skin care and the results you can achieve from using the right products for your skin type can depend on getting good information from your esthetician and is part of the process at Bella Fontana Spa. We expect our estheticians to examine your skin, provide their analysis and inform you during the treatment what they are doing to benefit your skin. We can allow extra time to discuss your daughter or grand-daughter’s skin as part of the appointment, just ask the Concierge Desk for additional complimentary skin care consultation time. Since young women often don’t listen to their parents, one of our estheticians may serve as a coach for better skin care.
Signature Facial the 45 Minute IDerm Treatment – The Iderm® treatment is the most comprehensive approach to treating the skin. This treatment uses a direct galvanic current which effectively introduces water soluble solutions into the skin by a process called iontophoresis. Skin naturally rejects whatever we put on it, so the only way we can truly affect the lower layers of the skin, is to draw vitamin rich solutions into the dermal tissue by means of electricity. The Iderm® Treatment utilizes two ionization processes: Cataphoresis (positive ion) and Anaphoresis (negative ion). A positive treatment causes an acidic reaction and helps to firm the skin and promote new cell growth. A negative treatment creates an alkaline reaction and is used to soften the skin and stimulate circulation. Negative treatments are commonly used to loosen impacted cystic acne for deep cleansing of the skin. Your trained professional will determine which treatment is best for your skin.

Bellissima Signature Facial Custom or Iderm® Treatment - Our Signature Facial is customized for your skin type using a variety of professional skin care products from SkinCeuticals, DermaCulture, Laboratoire Dr. Renaud and Babor. The aesthetician or cosmetologist will cleanse, exfoliate, treat and may perform extractions or facial massage or other treatments as necessary. Listen to Kevin Cooper’s Story on Growing His Hair and Donating it

We have a Texas Cosmetology Salon – or in the old vernacular and Beauty Salon or Beauty Shop in Sherman, Texas that is part of Bella Fontana Spa. We call it the Bella SpaDiva Salon. We had a client in today, August 27, 2011, that is donating his hair to Locks of Love.
At the beginning of the process we took a video of Kevin Cooper before to commemorate his beautiful hair! Then off to the salon for one of our stylists to perform the hair cut preserving as much hair for donation as possible, then styling it to transition to grow it again to donate to Locks of Love. The transitional hair style is important because Kevin intends to grow another ten inches to donate again. Since his hair will initially have some layers, we will trim the hair every few weeks to bring it back to a blunt cut at shoulder length and trim to keep it healthy for another three years of growth.
Why is Kevin Cooper donating his hair? Listen to his story:
When cutting for donations, we begin the cut to preserve the most length possible to donate so that it can be worked into the wigs and hairpieces for children that are cancer patients. Here is Kevin Cooper’s example of the initial cut. Then the hair style is designed around the shortest remaining pieces to transition to grow again for donation or to the style of your choice. Please consider the adjustment you will make when going from long to short. 10 inches are required for donation, although Locks of Love will use shorter amounts in the hair trade to help fund the organization. Here is the Locks of Love policy statement on using shorter hair:
Shorter hair will be separated from the ponytails and sold to offset the manufacturing costs. Although the shorter hair cannot be used in the hairpieces, it still greatly helps to reduce costs.

Save your gas and your drive time and enjoy yourself at the Spa while you are getting your hair cut, hair color and manicure and pedicure all within a couple of hours. We have three hour parking on the downtown Sherman, Texas on Travis St. and Jones St. and longer term parking in spots 1-4 and 10-13 in the Sherman Fire Department Parking Lot on Travis and Jones. Are Pedicures Really Safe? We put our hands in there too!

There are risks inherent in every activity, and for generally healthy clients, the risks associated with a pedicure are very small indeed. By generally healthy, I am including anyone who’s immune system is functioning normally and your Doctor is the best person to help you assess the status of your health.
At Bella Fontana Spa, we help protect your health by using a special foot soak that is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It contains urea, salicylic acid and aloe vera, among other ingredients that cleanse and help soften calluses. According to the manufacturer, some of the retail products, especially the Anti-Fungal Formula 7, contains 1% Clotrimazole. an anti-fungal agent that relieves itching, scaling, cracking, burning, redness and irritation associated with fungus, including ringworm and athlete’s foot and protects the feet from picking it up in the first place. The moisturizing and anti-fungal formulas use a dermal integration technology, DIT, that allows the product to penetrate easier and faster into the skin. The mousse mimics the skins own composition closely and contains CoEnzyme Q10 and urea making it the most effective moisturizer available. Read more about Footlogix.

Think about the fungal and bacterial load at the gym, department store carpet in the shoe department, and the parasites in the lake or your own front yard. Our first line of defense, as wonderful as many of the smell and feel good products out there, is a specialty anti-bacterial and anti-fungal foot soak. We also use EPA rated anti-bacterial, anti-tuberculoidal and anti-fungal sanitizer in our pipeless pedicure stations. We have an autoclave, disposable tools and more all to keep our clients safe. Unless a client has a compromised immune system, our pedicures are as safe as any other activity. Sure, there are risks like a nick or cut for both the client and the technician. Take care of the customer and reassure them you are using the best products to protect them. Clients, please ask about the sanitation protocols and take good care of your feet everywhere you go!
It is important to me that you feel safe and know that I am doing everything I can to take care of your health and well being. In my judgment, pedicures are safe in an environment that is conscientious about cleaning their equipment and implements, or uses disposables, and uses products that facilitate protecting and caring for your skin. There are risks, but the risks under these conditions are typically a nick or cut that can become infected without care, abrasions or infection or other injury that is no greater than what you might expect at your local gym, on the beach, in your backyard or medical office. Remember, we put our hands on your feet and in those bowls too!
